Deloitte Cyber Threat Competition

The Deloitte Foundation Cyber Threat Competition consists of two rounds. The highlight of this competition is a live, in-person event in which finalists engage in a Cyber Simulation at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas. Students will have the opportunity to present to, and meet with, leaders from Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory’s Cyber Risk Services practice.

Round 1
Compete with students from 15 schools in an online business and technology knowledge questionnaire in which you’ll be scored on the number of correct responses. Engage in a set of online cyber hacking challenges that test the breadth of your business and technical understanding. Up to four competitors will be invited to comprise the team that will represent their school in the Round Two Cyber Simulation.

Round 2
The teams will face off at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas, for a two-day Cyber Simulation. Each team will apply logic, creativity, and problem-solving skills to real-world cyber challenges, and showcase presentation skills to a panel of Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory Cyber Risk Services leaders. Scholarship prizes are awarded to the three top performing teams. The first place team takes home the largest scholarship award, the Deloitte Foundation Cyber Threat Competition trophy, and bragging rights!

CrowdStrike Tech Talk

CrowdStrike was founded in 2011 to fix a fundamental problem: The sophisticated attacks that were forcing the world’s leading businesses into the headlines could not be solved with existing malware-based defenses. Co-founders George Kurtz and Dmitri Alperovitch realized that a brand new approach was needed — one that combines the most advanced endpoint protection with expert intelligence to pinpoint the adversaries perpetrating the attacks, not just the malware.
CrowdStrike burst onto the national scene during the U.S. election season last year when it became the first to pin a data breach at the Democratic National Committee on Russia. They recently closed a $100 million funding round at a valuation exceeding $1 billion.
